Why Are Prenatal Vitamins So Important? - August 7th, 2010

Prenatal vitamins have been known to do many things, and there are many speculations about how they may work. With the right prenatal vitamins, you ensure the greater health of both the mother and the fetus alike. They have talked all about all that good prenatal vitamins can do before. But what do they really have? Of course, you want it to be more absorbable. But what about the actual vitamins?

High quality prenatal vitamins are typically made up of DHA, folate, calcium, iron, coenzyme Q10, choline, Inositol, B vitamins, probiotics, and any other number of vitamins such as vitamins A, C, and E. All of these vitamins are absolutely essential to the better health of both parties.

For example, DHA has been known to support the fetal eye and brain development. And folate is used within the first 5-6 weeks of conception! In that time, the neural tube is fully developed. Taking folate will help you to prevent birth defects such as spina bifida and anecephaly. Obviously, calcium is 100% essential for the health and production of bones teeth, and even the health of the skin in both parties. And of course, iron has been known to be low in some pregnant women. It supports the blood and muscle cells and prevents anemia as well as pre term labor and low birth weight!

There are countless other benefits of high quality prenatal vitamins, and some women who are not pregnant choose to take them for that reason. But whether you happen to be pregnant or not, better health is of course ensured if you use a good prenatal vitamin in the proper way.

Side Effects Of Cholesterol Medications - August 3rd, 2009

Some people have cholesterol problems whether because of genes, diet, or a combination of both.  But the reality is that so many are taking prescription cholesterol medications for all of those reasons, and they don’t necessarily see results, let alone the immediate results they hope for.  And apparently, some have resigned to the idea that they have bad memory and were just born with it or are just getting old.  But some statin drugs may actually cause memory loss.  In that case, it’s not actually just hereditary memory loss or getting old, it’s a side effect that you should check out to see if you should try something else or just deal with it.

Hopefully, you can find something better.  But they will generally take you off the medication and try instead a highly strict diet for a period of time to have a point of comparison should you have this particular problem.  Many have found that they quickly get their memory back when this happens.  If you can go with natural supplements or a natural and effective kind of diet plan, that definitely is a more pleasant and desirable alternative.  But these are things to check out with your doctor rather than deciding without.
